Ali Kafel is a Senior Director and the Head of Telecom Business for Stratus Technologies, responsible for working with Communications Service Providers and vendors who are looking to provide stateful Fault Tolerant and resilient Cloud Computing Software for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Cloud Computing As-A-Service.
Ali brings over 30 years of carrier telephony, IP telephony, SS7, mobility, cloud computing and IT networking infrastructure experience, working for various high-tech start-ups and multinational companies. Prior to this role at Stratus, Ali led Product Marketing for Extreme Networks, responsible for all its networking products. He has held leadership roles in Marketing and Business Development for various other high-tech companies, including Stratus Computer, Ascend Communications, Lucent Technologies, Advanced Fibre Communications (now Tellabs), Telica (now Alcatel-Lucent), CA Technologies and Sonus Networks.
He is also an adjunct professor at Suffolk University and holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in physics.
