Talend Expands Data Integration Offering to Deliver a Robust Open Source Solution for the Enterprise

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)-- Talend, the first provider of open source data integration software, today announced the availability of Talend Integration Suite, a robust data integration offering that unites the company's flagship open source data integration solution, Talend Open Studio, with professional services for large deployments. Talend Integration Suite is a subscription-based service that extends the functionality of Talend Open Studio with technical support and additional features for collaboration and deployment in large enterprise configurations.

In the past few years, the data integration market has undergone massive consolidation. This has left very few alternatives for organizations seeking an affordable and flexible way to address the challenges introduced by the exponential growth in the volume and heterogeneity of data they need to manage and control. Traditionally, lower priced offerings compromised features for savings cost, failing to deliver the functionality required by enterprise data management and business analyst teams.

Talend Integration Suite is an enterprise-grade, high-performance offering available at a fraction of the cost of proprietary solutions. It enables customers to remain in control through both the open source and subscription models, without being tied in to long-term licensing fees. With its launch of Talend Open Studio late last year, Talend was the first to offer an open source multi-purpose data integration for ETL and operational integration, and has since had more than 100,000 user downloads. Talend was also the first to offer on-demand data integration when it launched Talend On Demand, its Software-as-a-Service offering, in June. In less than two months, over 100 Talend On Demand accounts have already been created for companies of all sizes. Building on this momentum and continuing its pioneering efforts, Talend is now the first provider to offer an enterprise-scale open source data integration solution.

To accommodate the varying needs of enterprise users, Talend Integration Suite is offered in three editions: Team, Professional and Enterprise. The Team Edition is for project teams consolidating and sharing project queries and data. The Professional Edition delivers features for large teams and departmental deployments and the Enterprise Edition is ideal for large scale deployments.

"Organizations of all sizes have historically addressed data integration differently within each department," said Claudia Imhoff, president of Intelligent Solutions, Inc. "Talend's enterprise offering arrives at a great time in the market, as today more companies are recognizing the benefits of unifying data integration efforts and developing a centralized integration competency center to streamline all efforts around data management."

Key features of Talend Integration Suite include:

-- Teamwork and consolidation of developments, with the Shared Repository that allows companies to easily share metadata and project information.

-- Management of complex deployments, with Job Conductor and Grid Conductor that control the deployment, advanced scheduling and load balancing of jobs on a grid from a central location; CPU Balancer that parallelizes processing and CPU utilization; and Distant Run that enables the remote execution of jobs on specified systems.

-- Execution monitoring with the Activity Monitoring Console and the Activity Monitoring Dashboard that enable close supervision of the execution of all integration processes from a centralized location.

"The new enterprise-centric features of Talend Integration Suite directly addresses feedback and requests from our base of Talend Open Studio users," said Bertrand Diard, co-founder and CEO of Talend. "Our leadership and product development teams continually deliver in accordance with both user and market demand. Talend Integration Suite features enterprise-scale, industrial-grade data integration and offers everything proprietary vendors such as Informatica and IBM do, plus more, at a fraction of the cost. Our flexible and collaborative approach enables enterprise information management teams to focus on data management best practices, ultimately uniting all data integration activities to enhance business operations across the board."
