'Yoigo launches VoIP service'


(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Spanish mobile operator Yoigo has launched a VoIP service, dubbed 'Llamadas IP' ('IP Calls'). Yoigo mobile phone users will be able to make international VoIP calls to fixed-line numbers in 20 countries, including the UK, Sweden, Venezuela, Germany, China, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Morocco, Romania, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Georgia, Colombia, and Paraguay. The service works with no software installation on the mobile phone. The Llamadas IP service will be available in beta phase starting with 1 March. Yoigo will initially offer its VoIP service free of charge for its prepay and postpaid customers. Users will be charged between 4 and 7.5 euro cents per minute, depending on the VoIP call destination, plus the call set up fee of 15 cents.
