'Vodafone Italia clarifies VoIP policy for data plans'

(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Vodafone Italia has issued a statement in response to reports it blocks mobile customers from using VoIP services such as Skype. The mobile operator said customers can access VoIP services by subscribing to its top plan Mobile Internet Plus, for up to 2GB at a cost of EUR 8 per week. Customers on the lower internet plans, of 250MB for EUR 3 per week or 1GB for EUR 10 per month, would not have access to VoIP. Vodafone said it offers transparent information on the availability of VoIP services in its shops and on its website, including its 'General Conditions on VoIP' published in November 2009.
