Muscat Call Centre is Launched [Oman News Agency]


(Oman News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)   Muscat, Apr 7 (ONA) --- Eng. Sultan bin Hamdoon al-Harthy, Chairman of Muscat Municipality today launched the new call centre of the municipality. The free number of the centre is (1111).   This step comes to provide services in a faster way and cope with the continuous progress in the municipal work system to upgrade the services rendered for the public and the beneficiaries in conjunction with Samatel Telecommunications Company.   In a statement, Eng. Al-Harthy said that the new call centre is a qualitative shift towards providing the services for the people and visitors of Muscat as all are involved in serving this city.    He stated that the call centre ensures that the communications channels among the beneficiaries, locals and visitors are active all the time through participating in the interactive decision-making between the executive apparatus of the municipality and the public as it is considered as the place where the people and visitors take part in building an identity of high quality services in Muscat depending on a rapid implementation of services.   He pointed out that centre will receive the proposals and remarks from the public and ensuring the rapid completion of transactions as it includes a quality measurement and documents reviewing that carry all the proposals and remarks of the public.   Eng. Sultan bin Hamdoon al-Harthy, Chairman of Muscat Municipality explained that Muscat Call Centre (1111) is keen to cooperate with other call centres in the municipality, such as the waste water, electricity and water, communications and tourism by listing the concerned call centres numbers under the umbrella of (1111) as this number is easy to be memorized.    The Chairman of Muscat Municipality affirmed that Muscat Call Centre is an effective means that depends on transparency, high-tech and social communication channels, pointing out that rooms for the social dialogue concerned with the city of Muscat and other governmental departments that are concerned with services in this city will be opened soon.    Khalid bin Da'oud al-Zadjali, Deputy Director General of Information Systems and Head of the Committee of setting up Muscat Call Centre delivered a speech at the beginning of the opening ceremony during which he explained that setting up the centre comes to ensure the provision of best services for the public in all sectors related to the municipal work in a way that comes in line with the technological progress, in addition to availing a database for the services via best and latest techniques that support the mechanism of call centres to enable the decision-maker in Muscat Municipality to make decisions and determine the priorities according to the municipality's visions.   The call centre processes depends on the usage of best and latest methods of the systems, as well as the advanced technological techniques to ensure the high quality services. --- Ends/AH/FS (c) 2012 (C) .
