Mentor Graphics declares addition of NXP Semiconductors to its Nucleus Innovate Program


Feb 19, 2013 (WORLDWIDE COMPUTER PRODUCTS NEWS via COMTEX) -- Mentor Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ:MENT), a provider of electronic hardware and software design solutions, products and consulting services, reported on Monday that NXP Semiconductors is now part of the Mentor Embedded Nucleus Innovate Program and its participants can access board support packages for NXP Semiconductor microcontroller devices.



The company said that the Nucleus Innovate Program is suitable for businesses with under USD1m in annual revenue and qualified companies can quickly develop their embedded system with software provided at no cost such as the Nucleus Real Time Operating System (RTOS), the Sourcery CodeBench GNU toolchain and now 32-bit RISC ARM-based board support packages (BSP) for NXP's LPC family of microcontrollers.

Also, these BSPs are now available for NXP's LPC 4300 devices, with new ones soon available for LPC1700 and LPC1800 families. Applications for NXP32-bit devices include medical, industrial and portable products and customers using 32-bit MCUs can apply the Nucleus RTOS and Mentor Embedded tool capabilities easily, the company added.
