Unable to keep pace with the transition from film to digital technology, film photography pioneer Eastman Kodak Co. said that it will stop making digital cameras, pocket video cameras and digital picture frames. "Thus, marking the end of an era for a company that brought photography to the masses more than a century ago," wrote the Associated Press.

Google has entrenched itself is so many areas of tech they have become the technology news of the day. First off, Google+ growth has been nothing short of fantastic, in part because the company has altered search results to put more emphasis on this social network. Every SEO/SEM professional has had no choice in the past few months but to get up to speed on the latest social network from the search giant. And this in part is the reason why it has half the unique visitors of Twitter according to web traffic tracking site Compete.
In the last few decades it has become apparent that all companies are for the most part limited by their imaginations. Apple was thought to be a computer company but is now a leader in music, movies and phones. Amazon went from selling books to everything - even its servers are for rent via its cloud-computing solutions. Google went from search to purchasing Motorola Mobility and is well known for being involved in many projects from solar to self-driving cars and the television space.
Last week, AMD had the coming out party for their new CEO and executive team. The subtle message that came through the event had to do with ARM and a growing belief that the market is moving to a post-Intel world. Clearly, Intel is going to dispute this and is working aggressively to ensure not only their relevance but dominance, but AMD's strategy is sound as they, with current resources, can never catch Intel from behind but they might be able to get to a new or emerging, and as yet undefined, market first. In short when chasing someone faster the only way you'll likely win is if you can find a more direct route to the goal. In short, AMD is looking for a shortcut to the future.
Massimo Marchiori, who is credited with inspiring the creation of Google when in the 1990s he devised the algorithm for the Internet page ranking service "HyperSearch," is at it again. Only this time, rather than give away a possibly great idea, the good professor (he teaches at the University of Padua and formerly taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) plans to monetize his intellectual property himself with the launch of "Volunia." This is not to be confused with "volumina."
Knowledge management - timely, on-demand access to all relevant enterprise information - is a vital, pervasive process affecting all areas of IT operations. Effective service management cannot be provided without effective knowledge management.
Perhaps the most significant conclusion one might draw from a survey of 508 European executives from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit in August-September 2011 is that expensive enterprise technology programs have produced highly mixed results.
