Have you ever wondered why a New Year's resolution needs to be something that strikes us as the "right thing" to do? It's always about eating right and losing those extra pounds. It's never about "Well, I'm going to enjoy a much higher percentage of gourmet dinners this year," or "I'm going to ensure that I drink many more vintage wines this year." Well, those last two are just a few of our own 2013 New Year's resolutions. If you think about it, they are also predictions for 2013. They come with a high degree of confidence on our part that we'll get them right and that we'll keep them as well.

We've been very positive and impressed with the entire idea of Microsoft's Surface tablets going back to the day Microsoft announced them last year. Since then we've been impressed with the Surface RT, and though we haven't yet had a detailed run through of the Surface Pro, our expectations for it remain quite high. Microsoft, we believe, has done a great job in developing the hardware and in getting Windows 8 mostly right. The combination of the two has set our "expectations bar" quite high, and we don't anticipate being disappointed.

If you have trouble selling items on eBay, or you are unsure of how to do it, not to worry because eBay is testing a few new pilot programs to expand and reach new customers. 2012 was kind of a sad year for movies for me. I'd waited most of my life for John Carter. The Mars books that formed the foundation for that movie got me hooked on books in the first place, and while I loved the movie, it did poorly at the box office, suggesting it won't be a series.
What a Christmas Week! On Christmas Day itself, 17.4 million iOS and Android devices were activated. This is a record all on its own, but the rest of the week proved worthy of Christmas Day. For the week following Christmas, an amazing and record-obliterating 50+ million iOS and Android-powered smartphones and tablets were activated. No doubt due in part to those new device activations, a record 1.76 billion mobile apps were downloaded over the week.
