iPad SKUs Removed From Best Buys Database, Apple Fanboys Rejoice

By

In the epic struggle to determine Apple’s release schedule, sometimes the tiniest pieces of information are enough to send the devoted Apple fan base into frenzy. In a trend that’s preceded Apple refreshes past, Best Buy has removed the SKUs of the original iPad from its database, reportedly to make room for the iPad 2. This is unsurprising given that March 2 is marked on every Steve Jobs Swimsuit Calendar as the second coming of the iPad. Rapture is at hand my friends, and it’s rumored to have a forward facing camera!

As Appleinsider reports the removal of the SKU could mean not only a refresh, but also a potential indication, “that Apple plans to surprise with near immediate availability of its second-generation iPad.”

This method of predication has been hit or miss in the past, and though it recently forecasted the Macbook Pro refresh of 2011, it was unsuccessful in doing so for the refresh of 2010. Leaked benchmark tests have also historically offered rumor mongers information morsel to masticate, but they too have failed provide any concrete evidence on exactly when a product will be released.

Apple recently announced that it will be unveiling something on March 2, and with an invitation evocative of the original iPad’s there’s really no need to even guess what’s coming. But as of right now there’s really now way to confirm 100 percent that the iPad 2 will see the light of day tomorrow, in the words of the event invitation we’ll all just have to wait to “see what 2011 will be the year of."
