Citing a forthcoming survey of 482 Apple iPhone (News - Alert) 4S users by research firm Parks Associates, Wall Street Journal reported that 4S users use voice assistant Siri in a limited way.

As a result, Parks’ survey suggests Siri has not created any revolution in the market. In fact, the WSJ report stated Siri usage reflects how people use their phones more generally, according to Business Insider.

Launched last October with the introduction of iPhone 4S, Siri is an intelligent feature that can perform a variety of voice activated services, ranging from making phone calls to scheduling meetings. It is now an integral part of iOS5 and is available only on the iPhone 4S.

Business Insider reporter Jay Yarow surfed through Parks data presented in the WSJ report, and presented some interesting facts on its Web site.

As per Business Insider report, 87 percent of iPhone 4S owners use at least one Siri feature per month. 33 percent of users employ Siri to make phone calls, send texts or look up information every day. In addition, about 26 percent say they send an email with Siri daily.

Likewise, 32 percent of users have never played music using Siri and 35 percent have never scheduled a meeting using Siri.

Similarly, wrote Yarow, 55 percent of those surveyed were happy with Siri and 9 percent were disappointed.

Media reports indicate that Apple (News - Alert) is not interested in extending Siri services to older iPhone models. One major issue with Siri is that it has a hard time understanding accents.
