Observint Technologies, a provider of a broad range of access control and video and audio surveillance technologies, recently made an effort to expand its portfolio of integrated systems products and technologies with the acquisition of Infinias. Infinias is a supplier of network-based access control hardware and software solutions.
This acquisition is very strategic as it complements Observint's offerings — namely its professional video and audio surveillance systems marketed under the LG, Digipop and 3S brands — while enabling the delivery of networked integrated security solutions at practically every level of application. Meanwhile, Infinias will receive an infusion of resources from Observint and its parent company, the Carlyle Group, to accelerate development of innovative access control solutions.
“Infinias will immediately benefit from access to Observint’s vast resources and expertise, while further accelerating our growth in the professional security and IP markets, as well as numerous vertical markets,” said Wayne Jared, president of Infinias and chief technology officer of Observint Technologies. “Our entire team is energized as we look to take the Infinias brand to new levels of performance, interoperability and prominence in the marketplace.”
Infinias is to retain product development, technical resources and customer-facing functions like sales and support in Indianapolis, IN. Marketing, finance and operations functions, meanwhile, will be managed from Observint's global headquarters in Austin, TX.

In July, Infinias signed on LRG International as its manufacturer's representative for Latin America and the Caribbean territories.
A month prior to that, the company released its Intelli-M Access 3.0 software suite available in three tiers: Essentials, Professional and Corporate.
