No Wi-Fi? No cables? No problem. For the camera lover who has always wanted to take a photo with higher quality than a smartphone but still have instant sharing access via social networks, Samsung (News - Alert) has good news for you.
Samsung’s GALAXY Camera, the world’s second Android-powered camera, combines high-performance photography with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and AT&T’s (News - Alert) mobile Internet, which also allows for access to Android applications from the Google Play store.
The camera, originally unveiled in August, goes on sale on Friday, Nov. 16 for $499.99.
It’s the smartest camera ever, with stunning photographic output and a range of rich professional shooting modes, editing features and various apps. Data plans for the camera range from $10 per month to $50, depending on the amount of storage (250MB to 20GB).

"By connecting the Samsung GALAXY Camera through the AT&T wireless network, users can instantly share photos, giving family and friends a glimpse into their favorite holiday moments," Chris Penrose, AT&T Emerging Devices senior vice president, said in a statement.
Featuring a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD screen, the camera boasts a 21x optical zoom lens and a super-bright 16-megapixel rear illuminated CMOS sensor, for shooting high-quality images close up and in low lighting. The device runs on a quad-core, 1.4-GHz processor, and provides manual control of the shutter speed, aperture, and ISO through Expert Mode.
Smart Mode provides various special modes, like Rich Tone HDR (News - Alert) mode, Light Trace and Best Face and Best Photo, to help users pick the best shot. Users can instantly capture a high-speed scene with Action Freeze, take a panorama shot, opt to shoot to capture Waterfall Trace and many more. Capture video at 120 frames per second and 720x480 resolution and use voice control to rotate, delete, zoom, set the timer, snap the photo and share.
Group photos are made easy with Share Shot, and Wi-Fi Direct lets users share pictures with up to eight other Wi-Fi direct devices within range.
Beyond photography capabilities, the camera can share images to social networks and cloud services, as well as transfer photos and videos between the GALAXY Camera and other Galaxy devices, including the S III, Note II, and Tab 2 10.1.

GALAXY Camera’s convenient Auto Cloud Back-up feature automatically saves your precious family photos into the cloud the instant you take them. Tell it where to aim and just take the shot. GALAXY Camera and the cloud will take it from there.
Customers will also have access to AT&T Locker, a free sharing service for the provider's customers. With AT&T Locker, users can create and customize albums for photos and video on the device or online from a laptop or home computer. Customers can also store music and other files in their AT&T Locker storage, and upload new photos and video via Wi-Fi.
For a limited time, shoppers buying an AT&T smartphone can get $100 off a second Samsung-connected device, including the GALAXY Camera.
