Oh boy, someone or more likely many are soaking up their tears with tissues right about now. The news is floating around the Web that devoted Twitter (News - Alert) lovers can no longer peruse titillating photos of virtually anything someone decides to take a picture of to upload to the social media website. As the holiday season rapidly approaches, this is not a gift but rather a black cloud brought from the Grinch himself.

With nearly 30 million users on Apple’s iOS and Google’s (News - Alert) Android platforms and approximately five million photo uploads each and every day, Twitter is pointing all of its fingers and toes at Instagram, saying that it’s the company’s fault for the recent inconvenience. Basically what is happening is when someone tries to view photos from Instagram via Twitter they look distorted- typically looking like they have been awkwardly cropped.

While Twitter is claiming the malfunction is primarily due to Instagram switching up how it can be used in conjunction with its operation stating, “Users are experiencing issues with viewing Instagram photos on Twitter. Issues include cropped images. This is due to Instagram disabling its Twitter cards integration, and as a result, photos are being displayed using a pre-cards experience. So, when users click on Tweets with an Instagram link, photos appear cropped,” a recent article revealed.

Instagram Chief Executive and Co-Founder, Kevin Systrom, also acknowledges that his organization has altered the way in which it can seamlessly integrate with Twitter. He highlights the reason behind it being Instagram’s rapid expansion via the Internet.

“A handful of months ago, we supported Twitter cards because we had a minimal Web presence. We’ve since launched several improvements to our Web site that allow users to directly engage with Instagram content through likes, comments, hashtags, and now we believe the best experience is for us to link back to where the content lives,” he added.

Back in April, those that are now inconsolable as they can’t eat, sleep or breathe without either of these social media mega sites functioning correctly, were once overjoyed when Facebook (News - Alert) revealed it would be purchasing Instragram but would be sure to certain capabilities in tact including posting and utilizing various social networks simultaneously.

At this point, I guess we will have to just wait and see how much users complaints really matter to both Twitter and Instragram, but I am predicting this problem will be resolved very shortly, just in time for the holidays.
