Think you can work from home? Then take the challenge of Telework Week 2013. Telework Exchange has announced the details for the coming year’s Telework Week, an initiative that encourages participants to work from home for a week, and discover just how much they can save as a result.
Telework Week is set for March 4-8, 2013. Participants can go to www.teleworkexchange.com/teleworkweek to learn more, tale the pledge, and calculate just how much they can save on gas and their carbon footprint during that week alone.
In 2012, Telework Week resulted in over $5 million in total commuting costs saved, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 3,000 tons. Even if it’s just a small amount from each individual, that adds up quickly.
For agencies considering implementing telecommuting policies, this is the perfect chance to test teleworking programs and exercises. For employees who want to get out of the office, this is a great chance to try out telecommuting and seeing if it’s right for you.
