Combining the best of good, old fashioned entertainment, coming together for a great cause and today’s technologically advanced society, together, Virgin Mobile (News - Alert) and What’s Trending, a company dedicated to bringing customers the best of the YouTube world, are presenting the Tube-a-Tweet-a-Thon Holiday Spectacular.

At 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET, viewers can tune in via the What’s Trending YouTube channel to see a slew of celebrities, musicians and the world’s biggest YouTube (News - Alert) stars for an evening of entertainment (think of it like the YouTube version of the Golden Globes or Oscars, but without the crazy emphasis on pre-show fashion).

Featured celebrities include Pentatonix, Pia, Toscano, the cast of the Annoying Orange (News - Alert), iJustine, Kevin Pollak, “Snoop Lion” and more – all who are coming together to raise funds for the Covenant House, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping today’s homeless youth. Of course, following the momentum of such charity events like last night’s incredible, celebrity-packed 12-12-12 concert, the show is also lending a hand to help aid victims still suffering from Hurricane Sandy.

Even better, the event serves as a massive combustion of social media, where viewers can utilize social media sites such as Twitter (News - Alert) to make donations while tuning in.

Ron Faris, head of Brand Marketing for Virgin Mobile USA, elaborates on the excitement the event will stir, what viewers can expect to see and how they intend to help the greater good. He says, “This event combines those classic 1960s old school variety shows with the digital smartphone culture of today to host something special for people in need, including those crippled by Hurricane Sandy. It’s a nostalgic take on showcasing the hottest new bloggers, bands and YouTube personalities curated by our friends at What’s Trending. With millions of fans tuning in, we hope to get Covenant House some much-needed support for its work around the country and back on its feet in New York and New Jersey.”

CEO of What’s Trending, Damon Berger, also put in his two cents, saying, “We are so excited to be partnering with a visionary company like Virgin Mobile to produce such a truly unique multi-platform experience.  The Tube-A-Tweet-A-Thon Holiday Spectacular will give the telethons we loved from the analog generation an interactive upgrade that allows audiences to engage with a holiday variety show live across connected platforms and mobile devices while supporting a great cause.”

Will you be watching tonight?
