This vague Internet dating concept spawned both a movie documentary and now an MTV show of the same name, called “Catfish,” which expose the dark side of dating someone over the Internet who they’ve never met. Usually, it reveals dearly loved significant others to be the complete opposite – women posing to be buff, young men and men posing to be only God knows what.
And of course, we now all know of the horrible scam that involved Notre Dame football star Manti Te’o, who up until recently, believed his girlfriend to be dead –that is, until he discovered that the girl he fell in love with over the Internet never existed in the first place.
It’s been splattered all over the Web and on every news outlet, and yet in South America, there’s one Brazil-based website that doesn’t seem to care about the dangers related to these cruel hoaxes at all. In fact, they’re capitalizing on a plan that as we all know could easily spin out of control.

For just $39.99 (what we’re presuming is a one-time fee) this site will generate a fake Facebook (News - Alert) profile for your brand new “girlfriend.” It makes it worth your money too, as it comes fully stocked with details and a “history” of comments and relationship statuses from the past 30 days, according to one report.
Unfortunately for you ladies out there, the site’s creators only allow men to waste $40 to create fake girlfriends. You’ll just have to stalk guys on Facebook the regular way.
