With a net worth of nearly $500 million, selling nearly 50 million album worldwide, and winning seventeen Grammy awards with an additional one just yesterday, he evens owns part of the Brooklyn Nets. However, if you asked him he would probably say his best accomplishment was the January 2012 birth of his daughter Blue Ivy with this superstar wife who recently rocked the Super Bowl halftime show.
Yesterday as the annual Grammy award shows was in full swing, when receiving his prestigious recognition for Best Rap Collaboration, he made a joke that set the Twitter world on fire. Referring to the singer The Dream who was wearing a less than stylish hat, Sean Carter stated, “I would like to thank the swap meet for his hat.” And with that little remark, he touched the highest tweets-per-minute moment of last night’s ceremony.

The entire event was tweeted about over 13.2 million times according to the social media site, an impressive number by nearly any standard. Coming in next as most popular tweeted about event was when Prince revealed that Gotye won Record of the Year and Fun. won Best New Artist. I am sure most people were tweeting about the latter to ask who the group even was, as I myself was extremely confused as to what they had done to receive such a great nod so early on.
Country phenomena Carrie Underwood, who climbed her way to fame after participating in the little known show called American Idol, also lit the Twitter (News - Alert) world up after performing in a technology ridden dress that came complete with animated patterns.
Thanks to video projection technology, Underwood’s dress although originally appearing as a simple gray ensemble, rapidly transitioned into an outdoor landscape displaying roses, stars and even butterflies. The name of the song she was performing titled, “Blown Away,” seem to have fit right in with the mantra of her ever-changing outfit.
She told the Associated Press (News - Alert), “They can do a lot of amazing things with projectors these days. We had a dress especially made. I said I should take that home and we can watch movies on it."
Looking closer at the two most tweeted about things during the night, it seems as if the more you break out of your shell and say what you feel rather than what is appropriate, the more attention you will receive. Yet, even if these famous individuals didn’t have all eye balls on them while on stage, chances are high they probably wouldn’t be that bothered at all.
