You might not have noticed that Vice President Joe Biden has recently been wearing eyeglasses until watching Tuesday’s 2013 State of the Union Address. In fact, as he sat behind President Obama, Biden’s glasses were barely noticeable to most views, except Twitter (News - Alert) users.
Last night, as President Obama spoke for over an hour during the 2013 State of the Union Address about important issues like gun violence, manufacturing, job creation and education, Twitter was buzzing with tweets about what the Vice President Biden was doing - playing with his glasses.
Joe Biden, who was wearing glasses after scratching his eye with a contact lens, took his glasses on and off several times through the speech, causing the Internet to buzz about it, ABC news reported. The vice president also sported his glasses earlier this week while speaking at a gun control roundtable discussion in Philadelphia. According to CNN, Biden wore the rimless glasses after scratching his eye with his contact lens, which is made of barbed wire for some reason.

Biden isn’t the first high profile official to have his glasses noticed lately. In fact earlier this year, the noticeable Fresnel prism on the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s glasses suggested she might be suffering from double vision after her concussion late last year. According to the New York Daily News, Director of Fromer Eye Centers, it appears she is wearing an addition to her glasses called a Fresnel prism. “If she’s wearing a Fresnel prism, then she has double vision without it,” Fromer told the Daily News. |
