The day of love known as Valentine’s Day is now upon us. This holiday shouldn’t be a once a year event, but instead a daily occurrence (in my opinion anyway) in which people show their love and compassion for the love of their lives. But, many neglectful spouses take the opportunity during this 24-hour period to pay closer attention to their partners in life.
And while in some situations it may be virtually impossible to get your boyfriend/husband to spend hours on the phone with you where they outline each and every thing they love about you, findings just released today from data analysts at Marchex, Inc. show that men actually spend up to 13 percent more time on the phone than woman. In fact, the study highlights that the male race on average will remain on the line for seven minutes and 23 seconds with any given caller, while women only take about six minutes and 30 seconds out of their daily lives to converse.

Additionally, the analyst firm revealed that men speak faster than women, spewing nearly 236 words per call out of their mouth at a rate of 32 words per minute. On the other hand, the much smarter gene pool, women of course, probably use bigger words and in turn speak slower only emitting 227 words per call at a rate of 24 words per minute.
“All of us carry around ingrained gender biases whether we realize it or not,” said Eric Taylor, senior analyst at the Marchex Institute, in a statement. “But these biases can and do impact business. That’s why it’s valuable to look behind the curtain of what you think is true and discover what’s really there.”
In an article penned by the Huffington Post (News - Alert) earlier this week, a newly debuted Facebook app for Valentine’s Day was detailed that is touted as prompting people to "make babies" on this special day. The fact that people need to use an application to be encouraged to make a child is pretty ridiculous but outlays our increasing reliance upon smartphones.
As these next-generation gadgets continues to infiltrate every aspect of our daily lives leaving us to feel naked without them in hand, I suppose it was only a matter of time before they actually were within arm’s reach when we are actually in the buff.
