This time of year is filled with love for those who have a Valentine’s Day date. Bitterness usually accompanies those who aren’t so lucky to have that special someone in their life. Zynga (News - Alert) has officially released its second annual With Friends Valentine’s Day poll which reveals how its users connect with others they are attracted to.

Zynga is a top provider of social game services across mobile platforms with its six different With Friends games. Zynga offers users Scramble With Friends, Hanging With Friends, Gems With Friends, Matching With Friends, Chess With Friends, and the ever popular Words With Friends.

The poll was comprised of more than 6,000 of Zynga’s 72 million monthly users. The poll was conducted through an un-scientific in-game questionnaire that asked users to dish on how they connect, flirt and initiate love within the social games.

The poll yielded some interesting results with thirty percent of players saying they have used the chat feature to flirt with an opponent. Nearly twenty-five percent of players reported that they try to score more points with tougher words when playing against someone they are attracted to. I’m not too sure how honest some of the players were because most of us would want to impress someone we are attracted to.

The results also showed that twenty six percent of married players play with their spouse and a quarter of players instantly become more competitive against someone they are attracted to. The most telling statistic is that over half of the players said they are more attracted to an opponent who has a good vocabulary.

Some users even admitted to having started a game with someone they are attracted to just to spark a conversation. So who needs Cupid and his arrow anymore when you have Zynga and With Friends sparking romances and even some marriage proposals?
