Music to some is needed just as much as the air needed to breathe. For those of us out there who can’t imagine our life and ears without intertwining with the sounds from our favorite tunes and don’t feel as if there enough variation of music streaming platforms already out there, feel free to rejoice as you can soon jam out to Daisy.

Behind the service is a team that consists of billionaire Len Blavatnik and the people behind Beats by Dr. Dre, an overwhelming popular set of headphones that is changing the way music is listened to. Set to launch at the end of the year, industry experts at The Verge are forecasting that “investors will be throwing large sums of money into subscription music” now and in the future. They cited last year’s $100 million investment in Spotify (News - Alert) in addition to the fact that Blavatnik bought Warner Music Group in 2011, a move that in conjunction with a streaming service can prove highly profitable.

While this alliance could prove fruitful for music lovers who can now have an additional choice of where they can go to listen to their music as well for the individuals and companies powering the platform, it hasn’t been all rainbows and lollipops for this next generation headphones thus far. Selling for nearly $300-$500 a piece, robbers have been targeting those lucky enough to afford the nifty gadgets at a record pace.

In fact, back in May the most prominent thievery cases involving Beats headphones were in metropolitan areas including Uptown Manhattan and North Brooklyn.

“The perps are beating up youths, threatening them, and in some cases brandishing weapons,” the New York Post reported around this time.

As best-of-breed technological innovations typically are on the pricier side of the scale, when people use them in public places like subways or city streets it significantly ups the chance of a scheming individuals seeing an opportunity to strike. To fight back against those wrongdoers, be sure to keep things like your headphones, or even your iPhone (News - Alert), under wraps while traveling.

For someone looking for the chance to score some quick cash, if you aren’t aware of your surroundings at all times, you may get beat up rather than get the chance to listen to some newly released beats.
