Hewlett-Packard (HP) has a new set of tablets ready for market, three new tablets and each one with a different screen size. At seven inches HP has the Slate 7 Extreme, next up we have the eight inch Slate 8 Pro, and the largest of the three is the Slate 10 HD. I hope you guessed that the last one has a ten inch display; actually, it comes in at 10.1 inches.

A breakdown of the Slate 7 Extreme reveals that it has a battery life of about 10.5 hours, and all three Slates run on the Android (News - Alert) 4.2.2 platform, given the code name Jellybean. The Slate 7 Extreme is designed to be a full-featured performance tablet. It comes with a precision stylus, has front facing speakers and a micro HDMI port.

The seven inch display is a WVA IPS HD multi-touch enabled screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The processor is an NVIDIA (News - Alert) Tegra 4 A15, 1.8 GHz with 2 MB cache and 4 + 1 cores. It has 1 GB on DDR3 SDRAM.

The Tegra 4 chip gives this device the capability of processing 4K video (4K resolution is a generic term for display devices or content having horizontal resolution on the order of 4,000 pixels). It has 16 GB eMMC of internal storage.

Basically the Slate 7 Extreme has been designed as an entertainment and HD video device. It has a five megapixel rear camera and 0.3 megapixel front camera.

Next up we have the Slate 8 Pro. This tablet offers about an hour more battery life with an estimated 11.5 hours. It has an eight inch display with 4:3 aspect ratio and Gorilla glass. It has the same NVIDIA core processor as the Slate 7 Extreme.

The eight inch display is a WVA multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 using Corning (News - Alert) Gorilla glass. This device also has the same memory and internal storage as the Slate 7 Extreme, as well as an HDMI port. Some of the other features include an eight megapixel rear camera and a 720p front camera.

The last model is the 10.1 inch Slate 10 HD tablet. It boasts the lowest battery life which is still substantial at 10 hours. While there are some internal parts that match the two previous models, the processor is different on the Slate 10 HD.

It uses a Marvell (News - Alert) SoC PXA986 Dual-Core processor running at 1.2 GHz. The screen is a 10.1 inch HD display designed to produce vibrant, rich color with a crystal-clear picture. It has a multi-touch screen with 1280 x 800 resolution.

Memory and internal storage are the same as the smaller models. Similar to the 7 Extreme and 8 Pro, this model has a micro-SD slot. All the models are Wi-Fi enabled. The Slate 10 HD has been designed as more of a Web surfing and basic multimedia device.

The Slate 7 Extreme has a list price of $200. The Slate 8 Pro is the most expense with a price tag (News - Alert) of $329.99 and the Slate 10 HD comes in a $300.
