The Consumer Electronics Association’s (News - Alert) (CEA) holiday shopping survey claims overall spending will reach the highest point - $33.76 billion - since it began tracking holiday spending in 1994. That’s up 2.5 percent over 2013.

AT&T acquisition expands presence in Mexico.

AT&T (News - Alert) has announced that it will acquire the Mexican wireless company Iusacell for $2.5 billion, which will effectively turn AT&T into a major player in that country.

GENBAND, QUOBIS join forces on WebRTC.

GENBAND (News - Alert) is reaching across the ocean to collaborate with Vigo, Spain-based QUOBIS, as the two are combining QOUBIS' SIPPO WebRTC Applications Controller with GENBAND's SPiDR WebRTC gateway.
