Steve Jobs Biographical Graphic Comic Offered on Nook and Kindle

By

Just one day after his company’s newest iPhone was revealed, the man who made Apple the juggernaut it is today left this earth. While technophiles the world over know who Steve Jobs is, the fact that those who were not avid techies knew who he was shows just how big a footprint the man left on the world. Now the company that has long been planning a biographical comic book of Steve Jobs has decided to release an eBook version on the Kindle and the Nook this week.

The Apple cofounder’s death has had tongues wagging for days since it was announced he had passed on, succumbing to the pancreatic cancer that he had been battling for years.   Bluewater Productions still plans to wait another three weeks before they release the print edition of the comic but decided that there was enough demand to release the digital copy as soon as possible. Going one-step further to honor the memory of the man, Bluewater has said that a portion of the print comics’ proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

The comic, which was first announced last June, is expected to show the history of Jobs and Apple’s rise to the top of the technological heap. Of course, since the comic was produced before his passing, the paper copy will make no mention of when he passed away. The special eBook version however will make respectful mention of the end of his life. While those who use Comixology as their main comic book or eBook reading app will have to wait until October 27th to get the book, Kindle users will be able to download the book today and Nook users tomorrow.

This is not the first time that Bluewater has taken to publishing a comic biography. Bluewater said that it was moved to put together the Steve Jobs biography thanks to the popularity last year of their artful depiction of the rise of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg. That particular graphic novel is only being offered on the Kindle and Nook, showing that Bluewater has a good working relationship with both companies.
