GreenTouch Adds NTT to Its ConsortiumMay 16, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- GreenTouch, a global industry initiative dedicated to improving the energy efficiency of information and communications technology (ICT) networks, announced that Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (NTT), a telecommunications company, has joined the consortium. According to a release, NTT will collaborate with other GreenTouch members - including service providers, equipment vendors, research institutions and universities from across the industry, to research and invent technologies that will enable more energy efficient networks, plus create the network architecture, specifications and roadmaps that will define them. NTT is committed to environmental sustainability and the decision to join GreenTouch is a further demonstration of that commitment. NTT looks forward to applying experience in networking technology and communications to advance GreenTouch initiatives in Services Applications and Trends, Wireline Access Networks and Core Optical Networking and Transmission, the Company said.
