Computer Networks Questions "Is Google Ready for Your Business?"

Sydney. NSW, Aug 02, 2011 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- In the battle between Office 365 and Google Apps, Computer Networks (CN) has come out swinging with their feet firmly in Microsoft's corner. CN argues that while Office 365 is an enterprise-proven solution, complete with customised levels of security, compliance and support, Google Apps falls short in all of these areas.

Computer Networks CEO, Brian Pereira, stated that: "With Office 365 you can deliver the right set of tools for the right users - all with the appropriate levels of security and compliance technologies. It also offers a 99.9 per cent uptime guarantee. This coupled with our 24/7 IT support service means that whenever your business needs help we'll be there. Google Apps does not even come close when it comes to delivering this kind of support and the level of support that most businesses demand." CN have also argued that Google Apps will present productivity issues for businesses as most workers are unfamiliar with the Google Apps product range and that they are too oversimplified.

"Even Google's own top executives have admitted that they don't believe their tools will replace Microsoft Office," said Pereira.

They reason that Microsoft Office 365, on the other hand, offers an unsurpassed productivity experience as workers can confidently share information with their customers and colleagues, knowing that Office documents are commonly accepted inside and outside their organisation.

"With Office 365 people can access their content virtually anywhere across PC, phone and browser, with both online and offline access. Google Apps is all online so no internet connection means no access to documents and emails," said Pereira.

CN contends that Office 365 gives businesses the option to move to the cloud on their terms, while Google does not.

"Google customers are given an ultimatum when it comes to delivery options and licencing availability. As Google Apps delivers its solutions online only, clients are left with no choice but to move to the cloud immediately, said Pereira.

CN points out that if businesses are not ready to fully embrace cloud computing, Office 365 provides the flexibility to build a hybrid solution so people can share information on premise or in the cloud.

"Microsoft offers licencing options designed for organisations of all sizes so you can select only the features you need and control your costs," said Pereira.

Computer Networks concedes that when it comes to basic functionality that both Office 365 and Google Apps offer the same feature-for-feature, but when more complex functionality is required Office 365 is a far superior and more suitable offering.

"Office 365 shines with polish and flare, where Google apps offers affordability and accessibility," said Pereira.

Computer Networks is the technology infrastructure and hosting division of The CN Group of Companies, a privately owned Australian IT support and services company. Computer Networks offers dynamic IT consultancy tailored to the needs of small and medium enterprises through intelligent, innovative and proactive IT solutions.
