CloudTC Utilizes Metaswitch Visual Voicemail on Glass 1000 Smart IP PhoneOct 06, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- CloudTC, a software company focused on business applications and IP telephony, announced that the CloudTC Glass 1000, the industry's smartest IP phone, now includes a visual voicemail application that is fully compatible with the Metaswitch VoIP solution. The Company said the announcement was made at the Metaswitch Forum 2011, the annual gathering of the Metaswitch user community, taking place through October 6. Senior executives from CloudTC are here in booth No. 301 demonstrating the attributes of this fully integrated, smart IP communications platform for the enterprise. "We are excited to return to the Metaswitch Forum to show the exciting enhancements to the Glass 1000 smart IP phone, including adding support for visual voicemail based on the Metaswitch CommPortal Mobile application," said Cheryln Chin, CloudTC vice president of marketing. According to a release, visual voicemail (voicemail with a visual interface that enables a user to select from a list of messages for playback and obtain a transcript of each message) is an indispensable business tool for mobile phone users, and Glass now brings it to the desktop. Market research firm Synovate surveyed 800 subscribers and found that 75 percent of the respondents find visual voicemail "somewhat-to-extremely interesting," with over one-third stating they would retrieve more messages if using visual voicemail.
