Cables To Go Adds HDMI Active Optical Cable to Its Portfolio of Connectivity Solutions

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/09/12 -- 2012 International CES, Suite 2907 --Cables To Go (http://www.cablestogo.com), the preferred provider of high performance cabling and connectivity solutions, today released the TruLink® High Speed HDMI® Active Optical Cable (AOC). Utilizing AOC technology, this unique cable is ideal for distributing high-definition A/V from source to display in a variety of commercial venues.

The optical fiber construction between the connectors provides a flexible, durable cable assembly with improved performance and easy installation. It supports full 1080p resolution up to 20 meters and will soon be available in lengths up to 100 meters. Cables To Go will showcase the TruLink High Speed HDMI AOC as well as other innovative new products at 2012 International CES.

The TruLink High Speed HDMI AOC from Cables To Go delivers key differentiators as compared to Cat5 and HDMI over coax, making it the smart choice in select installations. The cable diameter is much smaller and more flexible than copper, enabling easy installation for tight in-wall spaces. The optical fiber strand construction reduces the risk of interference, providing the stable performance required in environments subject to high interference such as data centers, surgical theaters or manufacturing facilities where high resolution and consistent display are critical.

"In today's installations, high-speed performance and resolution over longer distances are key expectations, which the TruLink High Speed HDMI AOC delivers," said Garry Dukes, director of product development for Lastar, parent company of Cables To Go. "The AOC is designed to address the unique needs of critical environments such as data centers and hospitals, while maximizing the latest advances in HDMI technology including 3D and 4K x 2K resolution with Deep Color. The cable is also the ideal extension solution for digital signage applications in retail, hospitality and commercial settings." The cable features an added USB connector that allows it to draw power from displays that have a USB port. Optionally, the HDMI AOC may be powered from an AC to USB adapter. When the HDMI AOC is combined with a wall plate and keystone products, it makes for a clean, professional connectivity solution that can be used with projectors in auditoriums, classrooms, houses of worship and a variety of commercial environments.

2012 CES attendees can see these solutions and more from Cables To Go at the Las Vegas Hilton in Suite 2907. Make an appointment to meet with Cables To Go experts and view TruLink solutions at www.cablestogo.com/ces.
