Twitter (News - Alert) plans to open its newest office in downtown Detroit at the M@dison Building owned by Rock Ventures LLC. The new office will focus on marketing and advertising. Dan Gilbert is the chairman of Rock Ventures LLC, an umbrella firm coordinating Gilbert’s investments and companies, as well as the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers and chairman of Quicken Loans.
Twitter’s newest team of employees will focus on helping area businesses and advertising agencies leverage the power of Twitter in their business model. Specifically, the office will push Twitter’s Promoted Products suite of advertising solutions.
Adam Bain, Twitter's president of global revenue, stated in a press release “Detroit's emerging mix of automotive and digital cultures made it a natural location for Twitter's newest office. We're excited to work face-to-face with the city's most established brands and happy to play a role in downtown Detroit's digital renaissance.”
This area of downtown Detroit is becoming somewhat of a haven for tech companies. Other companies like Detroit Labs, Are You a Human and UpTo call the “WEBward Avenue” area of Detroit home. Bedrock Real Estate Services LLC, property management firm of Rock Ventures, brokered Twitter’s lease at the M@dison Building. Bedrock is currently looking for other forward-thinking tech companies to join the 40 technology companies it has already brought to the downtown Detroit area in just the past 18 months.
Gilbert stated, “Twitter coming downtown is exactly the kind of innovative company Detroit needs to advance our vision of becoming one of the most exciting high-tech and web-centered corridors of growth and activity found anywhere.”
