Happy Hump Day, readers.

Let’s revisit a company we’ve covered before here on TechZone360 — namely, Iceotope.

Iceotope?is working to redefine the future of AI data center cooling. (i.e. an especially pertinent topic, given conversations about the still-going-strong proliferation of AI, how its power-hungry processors generate unprecedented levels of heat, how to sustainably cool AI workloads while disasters like the Los Angeles wildfires are being addressed and how the interplay of critical resources must be prioritized, etc.)

When it comes to Iceotope’s advanced precision liquid cooling solutions, we’re talking about “up to 40%” less power usage and carbon emissions (per kW of ITE power), as well as “up to 100%” less water usage, per Iceotope’s experts. Be it for server manufacturers looking to optimize hardware for AI, for cloud service providers (CSPs) in need of custom builds, or for teams in general that are simply working towards net-zero targets, Iceotope delivers. (Read more about Iceotope in our past coverage here.)

And now, a new update:

Earlier today, Iceotope announced two key leadership appointments — Alain Andreoli has joined as the company’s Non-Executive Chairman, and Jonathan Ballon is its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

According to Iceotope, Andreoli is a seasoned tech exec with 30+ years of industry experience, having most recently served as President and EVP of the Hybrid IT Group at HPE. (i.e. after having previously worked at Sun Microsystems, NTT, and Texas Instruments (News - Alert))

Then, Ballon. Already recognized by many as a leader in the AI sector, Ballon brings extensive experience of his own to Iceotope; in hardware and software, and from the edge to the data center, itself. He was President and CEO of GenAI company SkyHive, and he has also worked a.) at the likes of Cisco (News - Alert), and b.) with several AI semiconductor platform start-ups.

Per Andreoli:

“The future of AI computing hinges on our ability to efficiently remove heat from increasingly powerful processors. The liquid cooling for AI solutions invented by Iceotope are not only solving the scaling challenges of AI infrastructure but are also tackling critical issues related to energy efficiency and sustainability. Across my decades of experience, I’ve witnessed numerous technological inflection points that have reshaped industries. Today, liquid cooling stands at one such point, and Iceotope has the best technology to become the leader in this market.”

“Iceotope is solving one of the most imminent AI challenges – extreme cooling efficiency for increasingly dense and power-hungry computing infrastructure. The industry is actively seeking scalable, practical solutions, and Iceotope’s technology, refined over the last decade, is ready to meet that demand. The data center market is shifting toward liquid cooling. The time for Iceotope is now.”
