Increasing Marketing Campaign Profitability with Predictive Analytics
IBM
2/3/2012 12:20:56 PM
To help reach today’s mobile, highly connected consumers, many companies have implemented marketing campaign management systems. While these systems increase the number of marketing campaigns, they don’t necessarily improve campaign effectiveness. This white paper explores how predictive analytics helps marketing organizations increase ROI by executing highly targeted campaigns focused on high revenue-generating customers and prospects. You’ll learn how advanced analytics can predict customer behavior and determine the best candidates for an up-sell, cross-sell or retention offer; generate highly segmented marketing campaigns that can significantly increase the profitability of every campaign; and achieve these remarkable results without increasing your staff or budget.
Customer analytics pay off: Driving top-line growth by bringing science to the art of marketing

"Read this white paper to discover four stages of organizational capabilities and associated customer analytics strategies to help leverage deeper customer insights.Download this report and read how organizations that implement customer analytics initiatives are:
* Increasing customer retention by up to 9% * Capturing 2% more wallet share * Converting an extra 3% of inbound contacts into a cross-sell event * Shifting up to an additional 4% of their sales orders to more cost-effective channels"
Decisions That Drive Success
IBM
2/3/2012 12:17:10 PM
Every day, people in your organization are struggling to make the right decisions – working with customers, partners, and each other – because they simply can’t use all available data. There’s too much of it for humans to internalize, understand, and apply in real time. That’s why organizations that automate and optimize decisions informed by predictive analytics have a significant advantage over competitors. Read this IBM white paper and discover how decision management can help you effectively leverage your business data to support faster, more-accurate real-time decisions in virtually every area of your business. You can learn the following: the common types of business decisions and how decision management affects them; why most decisions today aren’t based on any real business insight; benefits of decision management—what it is and how to adopt it; and the role of predictive analytics in effective decision management.
Decision Management Systems: A Practical Guide to Using Business Rules and Predictive Analytics
IBM
2/3/2012 12:15:19 PM
Databases and information management systems let you describe, categorize, store, modify and analyze data. What if you could do the same with decisions? Your systems could learn from previous choices and manipulate them to fit new parameters to intelligently mold future decisions made by executives, everyday business users and even your systems to optimize outcomes. Read this a specially selected excerpt from James Taylor's new book, "Decision Management Systems: A Practical Guide to Using Business Rules and Predictive Analytics" to discover the guiding principles for building decision management systems that can help your organization differentiate itself from the competition at virtually every decision point.
Scalable Real-Time Ethernet Platform
TTEthernet
2/2/2012 11:55:31 AM
Over the last few years there has been a lively discussion about how to adapt Ethernet for new application domains. Its focus has been on the use of Ethernet for real-time tasks in industrial environments (Industrial Ethernet). More than 20 different approaches are now struggling for recognition in industrial automation alone.
Today’s Ethernet systems have limits when it comes to combining them with classical Ethernet networks, devices and services. The scalability of these systems is also limited and the network solution is tailored for a specific application area. The industry is striving to reduce the number of networks and to cut costs for effort and resources. TTEthernet combines the proven determinism, fault-tolerance and real-time properties of the time-triggered technology with the flexibility, dynamics and legacy of “best effort” of Ethernet and is therefore suited for all types of applications.

Making the Case for End-to-End Monitoring in Virtual Environments
PHD Virtual
2/2/2012 9:34:46 AM
The transition to a highly virtualized and dynamic data center is not an easy one, and without the proper monitoring and management tools, almost impossible. One of the keys to a successful transition will be end-to-end visibility from applications to storage, and not just in the virtual server environment. Read this Whitepaper to learn more about why End-to-End monitoring is a "Must Have" and how PHD Virtual provides a good range of coverage across all domains and popular applications.
Advantages of Virtual Backup Appliances
PHD Virtual
2/2/2012 9:32:29 AM
Virtualization brings about many advantages and benefits to data centers today. However, as the amount of data being managed is ever increasing, the technologies that administrators employ in order protect their data is required to be scalable and effective. The use of Virtual Backup Appliances (VBAs) brings all of the advantages that virtualization offers, to the backup infrastructure. Read this whitepaper to learn how Virtual Backup Appliance solutions can offer increased performance and scalability with a lower overall total cost of ownership.
Considerations for Optimizing Virtualization Backup

Learn how PHD Virtual can transform data protection infrastructure through simplicity, efficiency, and flexibility to reduce the time, cost, and risk often found in backup and recovery.
High-Performance Multi-Core Networking Software Design Options
Wind River
2/2/2012 9:18:42 AM
Traditional symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) systems scale poorly as the number of cores goes up. Bottlenecks due to shared memory contention and multi-core scheduling become increasingly prominent. The result is a leveling off in packet processing performance, where the addition of new cores leads only to marginal improvements in performance, or in some cases, even performance degradation. Equipment providers who are looking to base their designs on traditional SMP for reasons of simplicity and convenience should understand the possible drawbacks before proceeding. Increases in performance when moving from a single-core to a dual or quad-core system do not necessarily translate into similar performance advances when moving from a quad-core system to systems with eight or more cores. This paper looks at a couple of different multi-core networking software design options that scale better than traditional SMP, allowing equipment providers to future-proof their designs by having a single common architecture that can meet today’s performance requirements and scale for the future.
