Twitter Counter Now Owner of Twitaholic

By

Twitter statistics provider Twitter Counter, has obtained former competitor Twitaholic, the company announced.

Starting from Twitter’s early development days, Twitaholic instantly became the go- to place to see how you were doing when comparing your number of followers to others. Twitaholic was the first site to put up a ranking of the top 100 users on Twitter. TwitterCounter has been in discussion with Twitaholic since early 2009, and has finally put an offer on the table that the site just couldn’t refuse, for an undisclosed amount.

Twitter Counter came into play after Twitter originated, but already claims to be making a huge profit of more than $500,000 in revenue in 2010 alone. Twitter Counter has also recently taken ownership of the older service, which now makes it the most reliable, continuously updated site for Twitter related statistics.

A main reason behind this acquisition is that TwitterCounter believes through use of Twitaholic, it can offer reliable, premium statistics that are being used today by massive companies such as Microsoft, eBay, Coca-Cola and Facebook.

Twitter Counter announced its plans to continue to build on Twitaholic's features, as well as continue to increase the amount of current users. Twitter Counter will also work toward improving its main source of profitability, a premium service that lets customers compare more Twitter accounts and allows them to export stats to Excel, download PDF reports and more. Twitaholic will also use its Featured User spots, enabling people with a simple way of gaining more followers.

Twitter users are sure to embrace all of the new options accessible to them because of Twitaholic.
