Bugatti is legendary for producing some of the most exclusive cars in the world, as well as some of the fastest, not to mention some of the most expensive. A new Bugatti Veyron will run you about $1.6 million whereas a 1936 57SC Bugatti Atlantic fetched $30 million at auction. So, for the car aficionado who wants the perfect desk, there is now a Bugatti-Inspired executive desk.
At $240,000, this desk has all-aluminum frame, self-closing drawers, and a retractable monitor as part of its standard features. The blue color scheme is reminiscent of the Bugatti Type 35 Grand Prix racer and the cherry on top? An Apple iMac that is wired into the desk’s frame.
The desk was constructed out of machined aircraft aluminum and is reported to have had a sum total of some 3,000 hours of designing machining and finishing. The honeycomb pattern on the front of the drawers is a throwback to the grills of early Bugatti racers; the gears on the height adjustment system are scaled up versions of Bugatti’s drive gears.
10 of the desks will be constructed, and each will include its own numbered nameplate and construction history, including every member of the build team.
This new desk joins the ranks of some of the world’s most ridiculous and most expensive luxuries one can purchase.
According to most-expensive.net, The Vividus made by Hastens is the priciest bed in the world, clocking in at $59,750. The Tour de l’Ile, a complicated wrist watch by Vacheron Constantin, is but a mere $1.5 million.
And the most expensive smartphone?
The Chairman by Ulysse Nardin, an Android smartphone. The phone includes both a touch screen and a physical number pad with volume controls that look like watch buttons. The crown between them can actually be wound to generate power for the device. The phone also features a kinetic rotor power system visible through the backplate. It only costs $49,500.
For those looking to save a buck or two and can’t afford the $240,000 Bugatti desk, there is a $65,000 version as well.
