Want Potential Robbers to Think You Are at Home When You Are Really Not? Security Firm Can Help You by Updating your Facebook Status

By

Everyone wants to be able to go on a relaxing vacation without having to worry if their house will be the target of a potential home invasion. Now vacationers can rest assured that their most valuable possessions are safe at all times, due to security company Precreate Solutions. The company will help you to keep your Facebook status updated while you're away from home.

The way this works is simple. You supply the company with a list of messages you choose and then Precreate will post periodic updates to your Facebook account to make it appear as if there has been no shift in your schedule, a recent Yahoo article explained.

Precreate Solutions' director, Gary Jackson, revealed that insurance companies are quickly realizing that those who utilize social media can be easier targets than others who steer clear of any type of social media activity stating, "It's getting to the point now when insurance firms are going charge higher premiums for social media users."

The bottom line here is although this company can help elevate your level of security, there are several things you can do on your own to make sure your home is safe at all times:

1.       Only accept friend requests from people you know. If you make sure that only people you know have access to your personal information, your level of safety will remain high.

2.       Keep your Facebook profile private. If your profile remains private, only those that you trust can see what you are doing.

3.       Never talk about details regarding an upcoming vacation on Facebook. If you keep your vacation plans a complete secret, no one will ever be aware that you aren’t at home.
