You may be one of those people who choose to wear Nike gear to look great during your workout. Now you can choose to download the Nike Training App to help you get closer to your fitness goals. The app includes more than 100 custom-built workouts, which you can complete in order to unlock exclusive extra workouts. These workouts include ones that celebrity Rihanna and professional athlete Serena Williams do to stay in great shape. You get detailed instructions and audio support as you complete your workout. This app adjusts to your progress and automatically updates every time you go for a run. Not a runner? Not a problem. This app will help you gradually become a runner as you train at your own pace. Teemo

If you’re worried about your workout becoming boring, Teemo is the perfect app for you. This free app, which previously cost $2.00, is less of a workout and more of an adventure. Teemo provides users with a virtual experience by allowing them to “Climb Mt. Everest” or “Hike the Inca Trail.” The adventures are limitless as you work to become more fit. You can even work out with your friends. The way it works is you can choose from 10 “globetrotting” adventures and create teams to complete the adventures together as a race. You’re provided short and sweet exercises, which you complete with an interval timer, audio and visual prompts. You can play your own music, track progress and win rewards.

This app has the largest food database -- with over 3,000,000 foods -- on any Android/iPhone calorie counter and has great fast food and exercise entry capbilities. MyFitnessPal includes a barcode scanner to scan a barcode of a food as well as a recipe calculator to enter your own recipes and calculate nutritional content. What you won’t find on any other app is the ability to add multiple items at once. You’ll have over 350 exercises to choose from and you can track every one you complete. Once you customize your goals, you can track your weight, measurement and more to view charts of your progress over time.

Strava Cycling

For those of you who didn’t know, cycling is actually a great exercise for weight loss. Unfortunately, finding a cycling class near you isn’t the easiest task, especially if you don’t have a gym membership to begin with. You could always go for a nice bike ride, but you’ll need some motivation. That’s where Strava Cycling can help. This app is designed for cycling enthusiasts or those who simply just want to try it out. This app allows users to track distance, speed, elevation gained and calories burned all from their cycling workout. Just view the map of your ride as you record. You can even collect your rate, power, and cadence data from the app’s sensors. Need a challenge? Join a monthly challenge to push yourself just a little further. You can even sue this app with friends to motivate each other and cheer them on. Like other fitness apps, you can set personal records and earn achievements for your performance.

Now if that wasn’t enough motivation to get you to start working out, I don’t know what is. Next time you can’t seem to get yourself off the couch, consider one of these apps. Sometimes all you really need is push in the right direction. Download an app now and get great results faster than you know it.
