Brainshark has made the Brainshark App available via free downloads. The new app makes viewing Brainshark videos – on Android operating system-based smartphones and tablets – more interactive.
Brainshark videos combine voice, slides and video clips. The new app is available in Google’s Android Market.
The new app comes as Android-based smartphones are becoming increasingly popular. Gartner Inc. has predicted that Android will be the most popular operating system for smartphones by the end of 2011. It will also have 49.2 percent of the smartphone market in 2012, Gartner added.
It comes as companies want to deliver business presentations that reach viewers instantly and easily, and have a high impact on all devices, the company said.
“For many companies today, the need to communicate with mobile audiences is a given – but getting recipients to actually access content can be another story,” Bill Pray, research director for content and collaboration at Gartner, said in a press release. “In order to be truly effective, content must not only be engaging, but easy to find, view and share on smartphones and tablets. Making content easily available on the variety of popular mobile operating systems is important – enabling users to conveniently consume presentations and other business content.”
Brainshark presentations are optimized for iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch), BlackBerry, HP webOS, Windows Phone 7 and Android-based devices.
One Brainshark presentation is viewed every 2.5 seconds, the company said.
“We’re pleased to make this app available – providing an improved and interactive experience for the large and growing population of Android users,” Brainshark CEO Joe Gustafson said in a story carried on TechZone360. “As individuals increasingly access their content on-the-go and businesses support a variety of mobile initiatives, Brainshark helps ensure that content is engaging, effective and easy to access.”
Brainshark’s products include the Brainshark Presentations solution, as well as advanced enterprise applications, such as Rapid Learning for learning management and Trusted Networks for channel communications, the company said on its website.
Brainshark also provides solutions for individuals and small businesses with the myBrainshark and the myBrainshark Pro Series.
